A press conference with style, organised at the "Jeux d'Hiver" in the beautiful Brussels Bois de la Cambre...
The marque which has a grand tradition in organising PR events with that something extra is undoubtedly Citroën. The PR work of Jacques Wolgensinger was already legendary decades ago, and connoisseurs still remember the excellent biography he wrote about the life and work of André Citroën.
Nowadays, the dynamic PR people of Citroën Belux, notably Director Communication Anouk van Vliet and Marc de Vleeschhouwer, (see photo above, left to right) keep up this tradition with style, and invited us on the “déjeuner de presse” which was held at the “Jeux d’Hiver” in the beautiful Brussels Bois de la Cambre.
At the event, Anouk van Vliet highlighted what Citroën has in store for the public on the upcoming Brussels Motor Show.
We tell you here more about it…

Director Communication of Citroen Belux Anouk van Vliet highlighted amongst other subjects the presence of Citroën at the Brussels Show 2014
A world premiere: the Citroën Cactus concept car
The Cactus is a new synthesis in the car world, a unique design which combines ease of use with comfort and user-friendly technologies.
Amateurs of speed and performance can admire in the Palace 6 of the Show the CITROËN C-Elysée WTCC car. This “bolide” will participate at the WTCC championship 2014 and the car will be driven by Sébastien Loeb, 9-fold world champion amongst the WRC-drivers, and whose name has been coupled with Citroën now already since more than a decade.
The second CITROËN C-Elysée WTCC car will be driven by 4 fold WTCC world champion Yvan Muller
Picasso prize winners...
The innovative C-line will also be present on the Brussels Show. The two newcomers of this line, the new CITROËN C4 Picasso and CITROËN Grand C4 Picasso bring innovative technologies to the large public.
This is amply proven my the recent prizes and rewards: the CITROËN C4 Picasso was rewarded with “Das goldene Lenkrad” or the “golden steering wheel” in Germany in the category of monovolumes. But that is not all. Also in Germany, the car was rewarded with “Best imported monospace” and in Croatia it was acclaimed “Family car of the year”.
The CITROËN Grand C4 Picasso has been selected “Best Family Car of the Year” by BBC Top Gear Magazine.
Luxury “à la française” with the DS line…
Exclusively for Belgium, Citroen will present the “Faubourg Addict” finish as an option on the whole DS-range, notably the DS3, DSCabrio, DS4 and DS5.
The restaurant and bar of the "Jeux d'Hiver" provided a stylisch backdrop for the Citroën press conference.
Moreover, these will also be a special series of the DS4, called "Electro Shot".
Last but not least, there will be another (sporting) world premiere, the DS3 Cabrio Racing. (see photo above). This car was presented on the Goodwood festival of speed in July 2013, and will now make its début as a production model.
Noblesse oblige: the press lunch was outstanding, with Tartare de Saint Jacques and Velouté de Poiraux as delicious first course...
There is indeed a lot of sparkling news to be seen on the Citroën stand at the Brussels Show, and let me announce you here that next month we will test the Grand C4 Picasso with the 1,6 litre Diesel engine in “Exclusive” trim.
So stay tuned for more Citroën news and driving impressions on these columns…
