The snow has gripped all the European roads, and Belgium is no exception of course. Under these wintry conditions, I drove three test cars, which coped quite well with slippery roads and snow avalanches: the Renault Mégane Coupé with a powerful 130 hp dCi Diesel engine, the Seat Exeo station wagon with an incredibly smooth common rail 120 hp Diesel engine and to top it all, a 211 HP strong Audi A5 2.0 TFSI S Tronic Quattro…

The Renault proved very stable and agile, with outstanding motorway cruising abilities and loads of torque and power from its very willing engine. A full report on this truly good-looking coupé will follow soon.

The Seat Exeo surprised us with the very civilized manners and smoothness of its Diesel engine, combined with excellent finish and workmanship, completely up to the quality standards we used to see from Ingolstadt… not surprisingly, as the Exeo is based on the Audi A4. The snow master proved to be a grey Audi A 5 Sportback Quattro, clawing with its 211 HP deep into the snow. At the wheel of this “bolide”, even the dullest snowscapes and roads transform into top winter sport sites. Needless to say that we will also report on the outstanding qualities of this car…
