Céline Monbrun, Corporate Communication Coordinator & Press Relations smart, posed for us in the new smart...
The Smart range is rejuvenated, and we are truly impressed with the new cars. Presently we are testing the new Smart Fortwo, and we must admit that the car has “grown” very much in terms of handling and surefootedness on the open road, gaining immensely in versatility and overall usability.
Needless to say that the new range was on exhibit on the Brussels Show, and there we met Céline Monbrun, Corporate Communication Coordinator & Press Relations smart and Julie Engelborghs, Sales & Marketing Manager smart. (See photo below...)

On the Brussels show there is a special series on display, which will be offered for a limited period after the launch, the so-called “edition#1.” This special series boasts a “lava-orange” coloured tridion safety cell, in combination with white bodywork panels for the smart fortwo and a graphite grey panel colour for the forfour.
White body panels for the fortwo...
On has the choice between four equipment levels, notably pure, passion, prime en proxy. Special colour combinations for body and interior can be offered, as the accompanying photo clearly shows.
The Smart fortwo retains its compactness, with an overall length of merely 2,69 metres. During out test, we were truly fond of the excellent manoeuvrability, with a turning circle of merely 8,65 m between kerbs.
and gray panels for the forfour...a stylish colour combination!
We drove the 52 kW/71 HP unit, and coupled to the five speed manual it guarantees quite lively performance, offering tons of driving pleasure. Céline Monbrun suggested we try also the 66 kW/90 HP version, and we are already looking forward to it. We are also curious to get our hands on the automatic transmission with the double twinamatic clutch, which will be offered within a few months. Suffice to say that the manual box delighted us very much here, making Smart driving a truly sporting pleasure.
We will soon also put the forfour through its paces, but we will first treat you on a report of our drive with the fortwo…
In the meantime, the electric version of the Smart is still soldiering on in the previous fortwo version. In 2013, the so-called smart electric drive was the best selling electric car in Germany, and 3rd best sold electric vehicle in Europe. It is on the Belgian market available from 24.079 euro including VAT.
With the so-called sale&care formula, where one buys the vehicle and rents the battery, the smart fortwo electric drive is available from 19.239 Euro, including VAT. The battery can be rented for 65 Euros per month.
The Smart fortwo BRABUS looks also "smart" from any angle...
Last but not least there is also the smart ebike orange edition, which is available since March 2014. It is painted in ‘flame orange’, with the saddle a combination of black/flame orange. It is priced at 2.345 euros, VAT included.
But as said, stay tuned for our test drive report of the new fortwo!
