
We will soon report here on our first impressions of the Skoda Yeti, which we put through its paces on both on rough terrain and on the open road… a surprisingly able car, this first SUV of the Czech auto maker. We drove the 2.0 TDI Diesel 4 x 4 on unhardened roads and the interesting 1.2 TSI petrol engined front wheel drive version, coupled to the 7-speed DSG box on the scenic roads near Eghezée and Nivelles.

The 2 litre Diesel 4 x 4 version of the Yeti proved very impressive indeed on unhardened terrain... and the car looks attractive and sturdy on its 17-inch wheels...
We also drove on the "normal" road the interesting 105 HP 1.2 litre petrol engined TSI, which proved an utterly comfortable and smooth car for those long trips which might you also bring to quiet unhardened country roads... the Yeti will know perfectly how to handle them! The Yeti has a very practical and variable luggace space...

The 6-speed gearbox of the 4 x 4 and Haldex drive train proved a delight on terrain...
