We visited a true heaven for Abarths in Belgium… Guy Moerenhout Racing

Italian renaissance: A small Italian thoroughbred is being reborn in the workshops of Guy Moerenhout in Lier… you are looking at the timeless beauty of the bialbero engine…

We know that thoroughbred Abarths are a very rare breed. You can find some in the famous Chateau de Savigny in Beaune, but if you want to see examples which are regularly raced and ready to take the road, we would suggest you drive to Lier, near Antwerp, and pay a visit (preferably by appointment) to one of the greatest connoisseurs of Abarths, Guy Moerenhout.

A man with an endless passion for his cars: Guy Moerenhout

Not only is a meeting the man himself a delightful experience, his garage will nothing short of astound you.

In the showroom, the 124 Abarth 2-seaters are standing in a row, and many famous Abarths are standing a few yards further in the enormous “hangar”.

We paid a visit to Guy Moerenhout at the occasion of the annual dinner of the Lancia Club Belgio, a yearly appointment which I never want to miss. And I am very glad that I did raise to the occasion this year too!

The beauty of power: the engine of the Fiat 124 Abarth Rally G IV Ex Polish Car - driven in 70´s by Jaroszewicz…

I show you here some photographs of the truly astonishing cars, and will report in more detail soon…
